I found a beautiful, flower dishcloth pattern on the Yarnspirations website, made with 100% cotton Lily Sugar’n Cream called the Flower Dishcloth. It had no border, just the pattern for the center of the dishcloth. (I added the border for this pattern.)
The following photo is from the Yarnspirations website:

I really like the vintage look of it so I decided to make it with Bernat Softee Cotton and add the border. The pattern itself comes with a graph and written instructions. I made a video tutorial to help you out if you are a visual learner.

I made these with the Soft Blooms Collection of Bernat Softee Cotton that was available for sale, but unfortunately, it is now sold out. We collaborated with Yarnspirations to bring these colors out of retirement for this special box. We hope that with how quickly they sold, they will be brought out of retirement for good. Time will tell.
(Currently, a lot of the Bernat Softee Cotton is out of stock on the Yarnspirations website, you can always try the Bernat Store on Amazon as they tend to have more stock. *As an Amazon Associate, we may earn from qualifying purchases.)

A tip I would like to share, which I go over in the video tutorial, is that to make these any size, just chain to the length you’d like and then undo any chains you don’t use. It’s the easiest way to make something longer if you don’t know the pattern repeat or can’t figure it out.
Here is the video tutorial:

If you like the look of the border that I added, I’ll include the instructions below:
Border Pattern:
After finishing row 6 of the pattern, turn and begin the border instructions.
Round 1: Chain 3, DC into the first SC of the row. *Skip over 2 chains and one DC, work 3 DC into the next DC. Skip over 2 chains, work 3 DC into the SC. Repeat from * across the top. In each corner work [DC, CH 2, DC]. Along each side, work 3 DC at the end of every other row, (approximately, see tip below.) Across the bottom, work 3 DC at the bottom of the cluster, and 3 DC at the bottom of the SC. Join with a SL ST to the first DC, chain 3 and turn.
(Tip: if you used the starting chain of 26, you will have 27 DC or 9 groups of 3 DC on each side of the dishcloth plus 2 chains for each corner.)
Round 2: Alternate working front post double crochet (FPDC) and back post double crochet (BPDC) around each DC. Around every ch 2 work [DC, CH 2, DC]. Join with a SL ST to the first DC, chain 3 and turn.
Round 3: Work FPDC around FPDC of the previous round, work BPDC around BPDC of previous round. Around every ch 2, work [DC, CH 2, DC]. Join with a SL ST to the first DC, ch 1 and turn.
Round 4: Work SC into each DC, 2 SC around each ch 2. Join with a SL ST to first SC, tie off and weave in the ends.
If you’d like to see more patterns made with Bernat Softee Cotton, please keep scrolling to see everything we have made with this yarn. It is a versatile yarn that makes very nice, high-quality blankets that are very giftable. You will love the results. It also washes up very well and is great for babies.
