We love to crochet! especially for the people we love and for those in need. One of the most beautiful things about crochet is its ability to create something meaningful and lasting for someone else. A handmade piece can be the perfect gift for so many occasions—weddings, baby blessings, graduations, hospital visits, and more.

You might know someone who is always thinking of others when they pick up their hook—someone who truly uses yarn to make a difference in the world. Red Heart Yarn wants to shine a spotlight on those makers who give back.
We’ve loved working with Red Heart yarn over the years, and so many of our favorite projects have been made with their skeins. A brand cherished by knitters and crocheters for generations, Red Heart has found a special way to celebrate generosity through its Community Spotlight.

In 2026, they’ll be highlighting 10 individuals or groups who are transforming their communities—one stitch at a time. These makers might:
Bring color to public spaces with yarn art
Donate handmade hats, scarves, blankets, and more to charities in need
Teach others to knit or crochet, passing on skills that connect generations
Start stitch groups where friendships grow alongside projects
Organize craft-based fundraisers for important causes
Each of the 10 winners will have their stories featured for the Red Heart audience, be paired with their favorite Red Heart patterns, and receive 150 balls of yarn to help keep their good work going.
Red Heart is looking for your help to find these unsung heroes. If you know someone—or a group—whose stitches are making the world a better place, now’s the time to nominate them. Each person or group can only be nominated once.

It’s a beautiful reminder that yarn isn’t just for making things—it’s for making a difference.
