Several years ago I designed a Modern Bunny Blanket and this little bunny was so cute and loved by so many of you. I have seen the cutest baby blankets, in all sorts of colors, made from that pattern.
Then I took the graph and made it into a hot pad/pot holder for Easter gifts and again, you all have just made so many cute hot pads with it.
So of course, I need to make something to make for Easter for all the babies so I took the graph and made some bibs!
I’m using Bernat Softee Baby Cotton which is a cotton blend and so nice to work with. (It’s a little easier on my hands than 100% cotton.) This yarn is also sold as Bernat Softee Cotton with more color selections.
In fact, the tan and cream colors are from the baby line and the white I used for the bunny is from the regular line. (I’ll list the exact colors in the pattern section.)
(*As Stitch Ambassadors, we use exclusively Bernat, Patons, Caron or any yarn found on Yarnspirations.com)
I’m going to include the printable graphs for each bib as well as written instructions to help you on the increase rows. The patterns are the same, you’ll just have varying color switching.
Also for the bunny bib, I made a solid color for the back so it is a double thick bib. I did not carry yarn through the bunny, I left all the ends to the back of the work, made a second bib and attached them together.
The checkerboard bib is a single layer bib and I carried yarn through the rows switching colors every 5 or so stitches, (according to the graph.)
The striped bib is a single layer bib as well and I changed colors every 2 rows and carried yarn up the side of the bib to avoid weaving in a lot of ends.
I would rate the striped pattern as the easiest to make.

Tip: drop Feather Gray while working with White and then add Feather Gray by pulling across the back of the work and drop White, do not cut, keep the yarn to the back of the work (inside) as this will be covered by a second solid color bib to hide the ends. (If you prefer only making a single bib, carry the yarn through the rows.)
Row 2: Read graph left to right following color changes, making sure you keep the ends to the inside of the work. CH 1 and turn. (26)
Row 3: Increase by working 2 SC into the first stitch, follow graph across, end row with 2 SC in the final stitch. CH 1 and turn. (28)

Make a second bib all one color.
Attach 2 sides together by working 2 SC into every other stitch and 2 SC per every other row to join the two sides together. Tie off and weave in the ends. Use Iron On Velcro to fasten the ends together. (Avoid using the stick on and sew, I used that first on the bunny bib and it made the needle sticky and hard to work with.)
