Hello friends, Hannah here with another fun flowers blanket! If you’ve been following us for a while you’ll know that we’ve made a few versions of these textured flower blankets, but I really wanted to try out another version with the new Bernat Future Hope yarn!

Bernat Future Hope is a new yarn from Yarnspirations that is 100% recycled polyester. It’s #4 worsted weight chenille yarn that feels like a perfect mix between Bernat Velvet and Bernat Blanket. It’s super soft and cozy like a velvet yarn but isn’t quite as slippery, so you don’t have to worry about any stitches coming loose. It’s a win-win!

The label for this yarn recommends using a size H/5.00mm hook, but for this blanket I decided to go up to a size I/5.5mm hook so that my blanket would have a little more drape and not turn out like a rug. However, I would definitely recommend working up a small sample swatch before you get started and experiment with both hooks to see which one looks the best with your tension – if your bobbles are looking too loose and not poking out enough then you’ll probably want to stick with the smaller hook.

After going through my first few skeins while making this blanket I also noticed that pulling the yarn from the outside of the skein instead of the middle helped prevent the yarn from getting too tangled, so I would definitely recommend pulling from the outside instead of the middle. You could even roll the skeins into balls before you get started to be safe.

Here is the video tutorial for this blanket if you’d like to watch before you get started!
