Hello friends, Hannah here with a new fall scarf pattern! I wanted to make something that was a more lightweight and had more of a lacy look, so I decided to use our favorite wildflower stitch.
The wildflower stitch looks complicated, but it’s really just a series of 3 single crochets together, and it’s a very relaxing, repetitive stitch once you get going! I think its official name may be the trinity stitch, or it’s a derivative of that stitch, but ever since my mom used it to make her original Wildflower Baby Blanket we’ve just got in the habit of always calling it wildflower :).
These scarves are made with one of our favorite yarns, Bernat Softee Cotton, which is a lightweight acrylic/cotton blend that works up so soft and cozy and comes in several beautiful pastel shades. The yarn is exactly the same as regular Bernat Softee Baby Cotton, so you can also use any of those colors for this scarf if you’d like!
I wanted these scarves to really have a nice drape so I went up several hook sizes and also tried to keep my tension pretty loose, especially since the wildflower stitch tends to work up pretty tight.
Here is the video tutorial for this fun stitch if you’d like to watch before you get started!
