Front Bottom Loop HDC (fblHDC): Yarn over, insert your hook underneath the front bottom loop of the half double crochet from the row below. Yarn over and pull a loop back through. Yarn over and pull through all three loops on the hook.
To practice a swatch:
Make a chain in any number.
Row 1: Begin in the third chain from the hook with half double crochet (HDC.) Work 1 HDC into each chain across the row. CH 2 and turn.
Row 2: Begin in the first stitch of the row by inserting your hook underneath the front bottom loop of the HDC from the row below. Work one fblHDC into each stitch across the row, CH 2 and turn.
Row 3: Repeat row 2 for all remaining rows.
Tip: The turning chain does not count as a stitch, it simply provides height to get up to the next row.
