I didn’t find this darling picture book until after I’d already started making this baby blanket, but I think they will make a perfect gift for a valentine’s baby!
I’m calling this blanket the Sweet Lines Baby Blanket, because it’s essentially the same pattern as my Sweet Berries Blanket, just without the berries :). I wanted to see how this pattern would work up with a chunkier yarn and in the process I decided I liked the look of just the textured lines going across, but I did keep the shell border and I love how it looks with a thicker yarn!
This blanket is made with Bernat Forever Fleece, which is a new 100% polyester yarn from Yarnspirations*. It’s super soft and works up fast!

ROW 3: Work a HDC into each stitch across the row. Chain 2 and turn.
Repeat rows 2 through 3 until your blanket measures about 32 inches or your desired length.

Weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.
Round 1: With textured side facing you, pull up a loop in corner and chain 1. Work one round of SC around the blanket, working one SC per row on the sides and one SC per stitch on the ends of the blanket. Work 3 SCs into each corner. When you reach the starting corner, slip stitch into starting stitch, then CH 1.
Round 2: Continuing in same direction, *work 5 DCs into next stitch, skip one stitch, SC into next stitch, skip one stitch. Repeat from * around the blanket. When you reach starting corner, slip stitch into starting stitch and tie off. (You may need to skip an extra stitch at the end to make the final shell work.)
