Crochet Pike Stitch

This stitch is very similar to the Mesh Stitch. The only substitution is an extended single crochet (EXSC) instead of a regular single crochet (SC).

Yarn used for sample swatch: Bernat Roving, hook size K.

EXSC: insert hook, yarn over, pull back through, yarn over, pull through one loop on hook, yarn over, pull through two loops. Stitch complete.

Start with an odd number chain.

ROW 1: Work 1 EXSC in the 5th chain from the hook. *CH 1, work 1 EXSC in the next ch, repeat from * to the end of the row, your last stitch will be an EXSC. Chain 3 and turn.

ROW 2: (turning chain will count as your first stitch) Skip the CH space, *work 1 EXSC in the top of the next EXSC, CH 1, skip 1 CH, repeat from * to the end working your last EXSC in the 3rd of the 4 chains that started the row.

Repeat row 2, with the exception that the last EXSC is worked into the 2nd ch of the ch 3 turning chain.
