Happy 4th of July! I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating with your loved ones. The Parade Blanket I made turned out so fabulous and was perfect for us to use as we sat on the grass and watched the annual Fourth of July Parade in our neighborhood.
This was my vision as I knew two of my grandchildren, Jack and Kate, would be up celebrating with us this year! I wanted to sit on the curb with them as they collected candy thrown from the floats.

It turned out also that the Cottage Lace US Flag Dishcloth I made was a perfect applique for their candy bags! I had already purchased simple canvas bags that I was going to have them fingerpaint on, but time got away from us, so on the night before the parade, I simply sewed the dishcloth to the bag. Easy and so cute!! Perfect way to make a cute tote.
(I think it would be even easier to use an iron-on transfer, maybe?)

We actually went to two parades, and overall it turned out to be a fun weekend. These little ones kept us on our toes and busy, busy, busy! And I feel lucky for the few pictures we were able to take. They move fast!
But then wear out quick!

Thank you for stopping by! Full pattern below, just keep scrolling.
