This is a classic crochet harlequin stitch. A sister to Catherine’s Wheel stitch and Starburst stitch. I find it to be the simpler of the two, but that might be just me.
This swatch was made with “I Love This Cotton” from Hobby Lobby with a “G” size hook. I took each picture as I finished a row, before I turned to work the next. So it’s being worked right to left. I probably will be using this for a baby blanket pattern. It’s too good of a classic not to make one! Here’s how to work the crochet harlequin stitch:
