Start with an even number of chains.
ROW 1: SC in the second chain from hook. *skip one chain, SC 2 times into the next chain. Repeat * across working only one SC into the last space. Chain one and turn.
ROW 2: SC once into the first SC. *skip next stitch, SC 2 times into the next stitch. Repeat *across. End with one SC into the last stitch. (Note, on the first row you skipped over a chain to the last space and worked your one SC, in row 2 you won’t. Simply work one SC into the last space, which is the next space.) Chain one and turn. ..
Repeat row 2.
Keep your tension loose or go up a hook size or you’ll be making a rug. This is a dense stitch. Maybe it would be perfect for a rug?
