I’ve had fun creating little bows to attach to alligator clips for my granddaughters pony tails. As I was making these however, I was thinking they would be so cute to attach to the tops of gift packages, or make them red and attach them to your Christmas Tree.
In the Youtube Tutorial I made, I do show you some that I made in red with 4 weight yarn, (Red Heart With Love Better Half.) They turned out larger and I added a different trim around them. Here’s a quick photo:
I used Patons Grace or Aunt Lydia’s Baby Shower 100% cotton yarn; however, I looked for a link to the many colors in the Aunt Lydia’s Baby Shower line, and it looks like it is no longer available. But any yarn is going to work for this pattern-even acrylic or wool.

Materials
Size 3.0 mm hook, tapestry needle, scissors, alligator clips
Patons Grace 100% Cotton, 3 weight (50 g/1.8 oz, 125 meters/136 yards)

Stitches
Single Crochet (SC): Insert hook, YO and pull a loop back through, YO and pull through loops on hook.
Single Crochet 2 together (SC2tog): Insert hook into first st, YO and pull a loop back through, insert hook into next st, YO and pull a loop back through, YO and pull through all loops on hook.
Pattern
Ch 2
Row 1: In the second chain from the hook, SC twice, ch 1 turn. (2)
Row 2: 2 SC in each st, ch 1 turn. (4)
Row 3- 10: SC in each of the 4 sts. ch 1 turn. (4) (8 rows of SC)
Row 11: SC2tog the first 2 sts, SC2tog the next 2 sts. ch 1 turn. (2)
Row 12: SC2tog the 2 sts, ch 1 turn. (1)
Row 13: Work 2 SC into st. ch 1 turn. (2)
Row 14: Work 2 SC into first st, 2 SC into next st, ch 1 turn. (4)
Row 15-24: SC in each st. ch 1 turn. (4) (10 rows of SC)
Row 25: SC2tog, SC2tog, ch 1 turn. (2)
Row 26: SC2tog, ch 1 turn. (1)
Row 27: 2 SC. ch 1 turn. (2)
Row 28: 2 SC, 2 SC. ch 1 turn. (4)
Row: 29- 38: SC in each st, ch 1 turn. (4) (10 rows of SC)
Row 39: SC2tog, SC2tog, ch 1 turn. (2)
Row 40: SC2tog, ch 1, turn. (1)
Row 41: 2 SC, ch 1 turn. (2)

Row: 51: SC2tog, SC2tog. ch 1 turn. (2)

Work SC around each end of row. Join sl st, tie off. Weave in tails.
(For the red Christmas Tree bows, the border is (SL ST, CH 3, SL ST)
Wrap a string around the two tails; twist so the tails face front. Wrap the middle of the bow. Wrap around alligator clip. Tie tails into a square knot, weave in the ends or clip.
