Fiber and Fabric Craft Festival- It was so fun!

The first-ever Fiber and Fabric Craft Festival held in Chicago is in the books! And, since it was so successful, I think there is a good chance that we will be in attendance next year.

We met so many of our Daisy Farm Crafts friends from the Chicago area. It was truly an honor and a blessing to chat with each one of you.

Hannah and I were both able to be there as invited guests of Yarnspirations. We are Stitch Ambassadors for Yarnspirations, the home of Red Heart, Bernat, Caron, Patons, and Lily Sugar’N Cream yarns. We love working with them and using all their yarn products.

They designed and set up the cutest booth where you could see all the new yarns coming into production, as well as a sample area where you could see and experiment with yarns like the all-in-one granny or Bernat maker.

We were mostly in the sample lounge part of the display, so we could chat and talk with anyone who came by. We were also with Sarah from Repeat Crafter Me and Anna from The Knotty Boss. We were teaching anyone who wanted to learn how to crochet, or sharing in our love of the craft. Sarah and Anna were so delightful and fun to be with the entire time. If you don’t follow them on socials, you really should!

It was a full four-day event. If you arrived on Thursday, you had exclusive classes available. You could also take classes throughout the entire festival. The festival and booths started on Friday and ran through Sunday.

Not only were there so many yarns to purchase, but there was also fabric, notions, quilting displays, and lots of gadgets to support your craft. Hannah bought me the best support pillow with a vibration plate in it, and I absolutely love it!

But overall, it was the many ladies who came from the Chicago area, many from various crochet guilds and groups. Several came from Wisconsin and even Ohio.

This is just a glimpse of those I met who were either in the Daisy Farm Crafters Group on Facebook or one of our friends on Instagram!

And of course, I can’t thank the Yarnspirations Team enough for inviting us and spending four fabulous days with them! I want you to know that they work so hard to source beautiful, affordable yarn for us to use to create blankets for our loved ones, or for our donations to charity. It hasn’t been easy with the closing of Joann’s and the world economic situation, but somehow they are making it work!

(Hannah had to leave a day early, so that is why she is not in the team photos)

When we know for sure that we will be in attendance next year, we will let you know! Make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter for all the latest news from us.

However, they have already announced the dates for next year’s festival, if you want to get it on your calendar. It will be April 29 – May 2, 2027

It will be held again at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL (It is very close to Chicago O’Hare Airport).

Thank you again to everyone who follows us and joins in our love of crochet! It truly is so fun to share with you all what we are making.

Hannah and I also had the opportunity to speak on the main stage Saturday morning to anyone who wanted to listen. We gave a short presentation called “It’s More Than Crochet, It’s a Handmade Hug,” which, if you have been following us for a long time, you know is dear to our hearts. We shared about our history and how we come from a long line of Italian women who loved to crochet. We love that crochet becomes an heirloom and something that is so special. Most crochet is kept for years and years. And as we have heard, no machine can replicate crochet, it truly is one of the best handmade crafts.

Happy Crocheting and all my love,

Tiffany
