Popcorn Stitch

The popcorn stitch pops! You will love learning how to make this simple stitch.

Start with a magic ring and chain three.

Make 4 DC into the ring. Remove your hook from the last DC and insert it into the top of the chain 3. Then re-insert your hook into the last DC, yarn over and pull through like your doing a slip stitch then chain 1.

Into the ring, make 5 DC.

Take your hook out of that last stitch, insert it into the first DC you made, put it back through the one you just took it out of, yarn over and pull through, then chain one.

Repeat until you have 6 popcorns in the ring. Then pull the ring tight. That’s it! That’s a popcorn!

  1. Would you please help me out on how you make the beautiful flowers? I understand the stitch but wonder how you go into the second round of the flower. In the flower above, you have the white center with the yellow second round. Please advise, as I think these are beautiful!

    1. I agree they are so adorable! Thank you for saying so! So, all I did was switch to yellow and chain 3. That counts as one dc. Then I worked into the space in between each petal of the row below. I worked 2 popcorn stitches in one space. I hope that helps!
