Tiny Bubbles Crochet Blanket

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share with you a blanket my younger sister Natalee made for a dear friend who is going through cancer treatments. I can’t think of a better handmade hug to bring comfort for those hard days ahead.

She used a pattern on the Yarnspirations website called Tiny Bubbles Crochet Blanket. The pattern was so easy to follow and she finished it in under a week. It’s generous in size measuring 55 x 65 inches- a perfect lap blanket.

If this stitch looks slightly familiar, it is an alternating single crochet and double crochet griddle stitch, or sometimes called lemon peel stitch. It varies slightly as to the version we have on our site, but the concept is the same in that single crochets are worked into the double crochet of the previous row and vice versa.

Overall, it is a wonderful, beginner-friendly stitch and pattern. The following photo of the blanket in a teal color is from the Yarnspirations website. Bernat Blanket yarn is available in an array of colors, so there are plenty of options to customize the color.

This is the yarn you are looking for if you are shopping your local craft store:

I know my sister stitched this up with a prayer in her heart for her friend and I want to add to those prayers for healing and comfort. I also think Natalee did a wonderful job and made a beautiful throw.

Here are all the links you’ll need if you’d like to make this as well or need a quick “handmade hug” to gift to your friend in need of comfort.
