1 cup soft butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 3/4 cups sifted flour
2 tsps. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Mix butter, sugar and eggs until creamy. Then sift together and stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place two inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned but still soft. (These cookies puff up at first, then flatten out.) DO NOT OVERBAKE.
Bake at 375°F for 8-10 min. Makes about 5 dozen 2″ cookies.
