New! Red Heart Flower Power Square

The team at Yarnspirations has done it again! They have simplified making a flower square by having the yarn change colors exactly when needed. This helps with the number of ends to weave in, which naturally occurs when making colorful squares.

I have been having so much fun learning the pattern, it is different than the original Field of Daisies Square. I like this version as well! There is an extra round of half double crochets and they even have added an extra amount of yarn at the end of the square to use when I sew them together. Genius!

I’ve been able to play with several shades and am so in love with them all! There are even more variations on the Yarnpsirations website

Each ball creates 12 squares that measure 6 inches x 6 inches. I used an I, 5.5 mm hook as recommended on the package and it worked great for me. You will need to make a practice square to make sure your personal tension is right for the hook size. I only had trouble on the first square I made with getting the color to change automatically after the petal round.

It is very nice to only have to worry about one round of color working out. The final round has plenty of yarn left over to finish with or use to sew the squares together. Yarnspirations has put together a video showing two ways to join the squares, an invisible join and a slip stitch join.

I have made a video tutorial of the square you can watch it too and see a demonstration.

There are 13 new patterns with this yarn too I have them all linked below so you can scroll through and choose what project you’d like to make. I want to make little overalls for my grandbaby Kate. So cute!

Thank you for stopping by! XO, Tiffany
