Hello there! Our friends at Yarnspirations sent us yarn to try from a new line called O’Go! It’s a new way to pull yarn from a skein that is tangle-free and quick starting. 

I used a solid color along with a multi-colored O’Go to make a warm scarf. I have a video tutorial at the end of the post to show you how I pulled the colors apart easily. I chose to cut and separate them into sections, but you also could use them continuously without cutting.

This was a new experience working with yarn like this and I didn’t know quite what to expect but overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how very easily the yarn pulled from around the outside. 

I also did a test from pulling from the inside, which it did pull very easily, but it made the O’go fall apart. It’s recommended to pull from the outside and I think that is the smartest way to do so. 

The solid color O’go is continuous without any breaks in the yarn. I pulled from the outside of the skein and it just got smaller and smaller as I went. I never had one tangle or yarn barf and the O’go stayed put as I pulled. 

I did store it in a gallon size plastic ziploc when I wasn’t using it. 

I used Caron Colorama which is a thicker 5 weight, but they also have O’go in Bernat Blanket, Red Heart Super Saver, and Caron Big Donut.

Let’s get to the pattern for the scarf! (It’s totally easy.)

Materials

Caron Colorama O’Go (100% acrylic, 180g/6.4oz, 208m/228yds)

1 skein First Blush, 1 skein Sticky Rice

Size K/6.5mm hook, scissors, tapestry needle

Stitch

Single Crochet (SC): Insert your hook, yarn over (YO) and pull up a loop, YO and pull through two loops. 

Pattern

With Sticky Rice, make a slip knot with a 12 inch tail.

Make a chain that measures the height of the person you are making the scarf for. I made mine 5 foot 5 inches. 

Tie off and cut and leave a 12 inch tail.

Mark the first chain made. 

Make a slip knot with a 12 inch tail. Begin in the first chain made, in the back loop with 1 SC. Work 1 SC into the back loop of each chain. Chain 1 at the end of the row, pull through and tie off and cut leaving a 12 inch tail. Do not turn. 

*Make a slip knot with a 12 inch tail. Begin in the first SC in the back loop with 1 SC. Work 1 SC into the back loop of each SC. Chain 1 at the end of the row, pull through and tie off and cut leaving a 12 inch tail. Do not turn. 

Repeat from * for remaining rows making the color changes after 3 rows of Sticky Rice.  Work only 1 row of color and then 3 rows of Sticky Rice. 

When finished, trim each end of tails evenly.
